SUN
DAMAGE, ACTINIC KERATOSIS AND SKIN CANCER
There are
certain conditions in life we just have to accept, but we don't
have to accept the permanent stigma of sun damaged skin: wrinkles,
pigmented spots (lentigos), and red scaly patches on the face
(actinic keratosis).
In these
cases Retin-A Cream and Glycolic Acid can be used with significant
results. Now, a new product called Kinerase
is available. It works as well as Retin-A to improve sun damage
without the irritation of Retin-A Cream. Sun damaged skin (Actinic
Keratosis) is especially common in patients with light complexion,
light eyes and chronic sun exposure.
It is important
to seek treatment of these because up to 25 percent of such cases
of sun damaged skin can transform into skin cancer. While skin
cancer is the most common form of cancer, it can be cured if treated
early.
